さみしい。 
たくさんのカナダ人の中に一人ぼっち。は、移住４年、もう慣れたつもりだったけれど、慣れる、なんてことはずっとないのかもしれない。

昨日作ったちょうちょのモビール。
どうか私を乗せて日本まで連れてっておくれ。 

。。。なんて、重すぎてダメか。
しかもマミィが行くところには私も必ず行くという娘も、日本食（とくにシソと湯葉）が恋しいから次は必ずついてくぜという夫もいたら、相当重くてダメだ。 

白玉団子を作って、また少し頑張ってみるさ。

sign of spring

ここ数日、すごく気になっていること。
Juliett and my big interest these days is... 

ロビン。
American Robins. 
We noticed they came back to north(this village) last week.

ロビンがここまで帰ってきています。
気づいたのは春休みの間、それから毎日３羽がうちのフロントヤードと隣のバックヤードでかなりの時間を過ごしているのをジュリと静かに観察するのが日課になりました。誕生日にあげた双眼鏡、なかなか役立ってます。
Since when I saw their beautiful eggs colour, robins are one of my favourite birds.
I didn't like birds before, so it is surprising for me to have some favourite birds now. Canadian nature affected and affects me a lot, I guess.

どうか、近くに巣を作ってくれないかな。私たちも一緒に青いたまごを守るから。
それがジュリと私の願い。
We have seen three robins around our front yard and next door's back yard. Are they making a nest soon?  
We see some kinds of birds, Juliett and I have been spending a long time watching them. The binoculars we gave Juliett for her birthday are quite useful.  

クリスマスの時に作って、クリスマスが終った後、フロントヤードのライラックの木にかけておいたクランベリーとポップコーンのガーランド、誰も食べに来ないから、先週とうとう取り外したのだけれど、その時にぽろぽろクランベリーとポップコーンが芝にいくつか落ちてました。

今日、それをロビンが食べているのを発見。

ジュリはすぐに図鑑を引っ張り出してきて、一緒にロビンのところを読んでみると、「ミミズや小さい虫、それに加えてフルーツ、ドライフルーツなんかも食べる」と書いてあり、そんなクリスマスの古いのを食べるのならもっとおいしいもの？を！と、ジュリは あわてて戸棚からレーズンとドライクランベリーを出してきて、庭にさささっと出て少し撒きました。

３０分後、一度ジュリに驚いて飛び立った鳥たちが戻ってきて、ロビンもドライフルーツをつんつん。

もう、かわいくて、私、ロビン・パパラッツィ。
今ブログを書こうと写真を見たら３５枚もロビンの写真撮ってました。
I don't know what attract me so much, but I realized that I have taken so many photos of them, like a paparazzi. They are very pretty.

鳥、昔は嫌いだったのにな。
カナダの自然は好みまで変えてしまうんだ。

今日も雪が少し降ったけれど、いろんな鳥の鳴き声を聞くようになって春を感じています。
Sign of spring.... maybe that is one of the reason I like robins? They make me feel a little happier.

heart waffles

先日、お友達のブログにおいしそうなワッフルでの朝食の様子が載っていて、いいなぁ。。。と思っていた、そんないいタイミングでおなじみ村の仲良し家族からこちらを借りました。
One of my friends showed her family's favourite breakfast on her blog the other day and it was "waffles with fruits". I have wanted to try making waffles for a long time, especially more and more since I saw her yummy blog photos.
  
昨日、夕食に呼んでくれていた彼らと「今度ブランチ一緒にしようよ。」って話になって、「何がいいかなぁ。。ベーコンとたまごとパン？」「いやいや、ワッフルだよ、やっぱり。ファンシーだし。食べたいなぁ。。。」「ワッフル？うち、いいの持ってるよ？使ってみたい？」ってな感じに会話が進んで、お借りしました。やった！
Our friends invited us for dinner yesterday, we had very nice dinner and a great time with them. During the conversation, "waffles for brunch" came up, and they lend us their waffle cast iron. Yay! 

こんなの見たことないから手渡してもらって興奮。
ノルウェー製ねぇ。。へぇ。。。と開くとびっくり。かわいい！ハートだ！
I have never seen this kind of waffle maker, very heavy, very interesting. When I opened it, I was surprised, wow! cute! five hearts!! 
It is made in Norway.

ということで、生地も調べてノルウェー風にしようとしたけれど、カルダモンはなく、サワークリームを１カップも入れる勇気もなく。普通の生地で。
So, we searched Norwegian waffles recipe, but we didn't have cardamom and I wasn't sure if we would like 1 cup of sour cream in the batter, so I didn't  put it either...(that means I just made with regular waffle batter).  

十分にキャストアイアンのワッフルメーカーを熱くして、生地がつかないように油をつけて、生地を流してまず３０秒、そしてパンをひっくり返して（これが重い）、１分かそのくらいでワッフル完成。
これはいいや！外サクサクで中もっちり。

 








ジュリはシロップしかつけない派、私たちは生クリームやフルーツを載せて。
やぎのチーズやサワークリーム&ジャムを載せたりするのがノルウェー流みたいだけれど、冒険はせずに、普通の食べ方で。
Crunchy outside, soft, moist, and a bit chewy inside, they were DELICIOUS! (and very cute look too.)  
We, especially Juliett, liked them a lot!

おいしかったです、とっても。多分明日もやっちゃう。
Thank you, friends! We will make them again tomorrow morning before returning for sure.

外は昨日からずっと雪。でも地面が暖かいから降っても昨日は溶けていたのに、さすがにずっと降り続いている今日は積もってみんなで雪かき。これでこの冬は最後の雪になってくれたらいいのだけれど。
It has been snowing since yesterday, this morning we had more than 10 cm snow, and it is still snowing.
I hope this is the last snow of this winter/spring.

sunshine and fresh air

今日のお気に入りの写真。
林の中を歩いていて、私の背の高さよりも高いところにあった木の傷。

どんな動物たちがつけたのかな、熊？それともムースとか？
あちこちの木の傷に加えて雪が解けた地面にはいろいろな糞。自然の動物たちが身近に暮らしていることを改めて実感してワクワクしました。

We went for a drive to the north today.
We did some Geo-Caching on the way, it was our first Geo-Caching this year.
While we were walking in the trees, Juliett and I found some signs of wild animals, such as these scars on trees and lots of droppings on the ground. 

These scars on the photo were higher than my height, we wondered what animal made these, a bear? and I realized that we live very close to wild animals. That is very exciting. 

昨日も今日もとっても天気が良くて、外で気持ちいい時間を過ごしました。 

またこれから雪予報が出ているけれど、たくさんの太陽の光を浴びていい空気を吸ったので、元気もりもりです。
We had really nice warm days yesterday and today.
The weather forecast says that we might have snow again tomorrow or so, but we got lots of beautiful sunshine and fresh air for two days, so I think we will be OK with some more wintery days. :)

 










昨日は友達家族と近くの川のある公園へ。
川はまだ凍っていて、子供たちは溶けて流れる水をダムで止めようと、協力し合って石を運んだり、石を氷に向けて投げて氷を崩したり、川底に当たるところでおもしろい形の石を探したり。遊びは尽きず、思い切り楽しみました。
We went to a park with friends yesterday. There was a river there, the river was still half frozen. We had a fun time there, making a dam with stones, looking for interesting shape stones, breaking ice, walking on quicksand, throwing stones in the water,..... lots of fun!

氷が解けて、氷の塊が他の氷にぶつかりながら流れていく音がカラカラと、何とも言えない澄んだきれいな音で、しばらくそこに座って聞き入ってしまいました。究極の癒し？ 
I really liked to listen to the sound that some ice pieces in the water hit the other ice, the sound was very clear and peaceful to me. 

 










友達が大きなハートの石を見つけて、子供たち大喜び。
左の氷は川の流れの中から拾ったもので、柱状の氷が固まりになっているのがおもしろい。
Our friend found a heart(a little bit like a fox face?) shaped stone.
Ice pieces in the water were very beautiful, especially when the sunshine hit them.  

雄大な自然の中で仲良し家族といい時間を過ごしました。
カナダのこういうところ、好きだなぁ。
We had a really good time with our friends in nature. I like having relaxing time in nature, it is very "Canadian" way to spend time to me. 

今日は北へドライブ。
あまり車通りのないハイウェイを進んだので、途中でワイルドアニマルたちに遭遇なんてこともあるかなぁと期待していたけれど、見たのは鷹だけでした。それでも嬉しかった。北に戻ってきていると言うことは、春、と言うことだと思うから。

 














雪が解けてきて、今年初のジオキャッシングをしながらのんびりドライブ。
途中、林の中を歩いていると、木にかわいいコケ？がいっぱいもこもこ生えているのを発見。色もかわいいヒスイ色、しかも木のあちこちにボールのようにぽこぽこ生えていて、何だか不思議な景色なんです。
When we did Geo-Caching today, we saw lots of mosses on trees.
The views were still almost brown and white, but the mosses gave nice colour accent to the views, I thought. They were like small balls and they had a kind of cute looking. Some trees had lots of them on their branches.

 












ビーバーの家を見つけました。
確か、ビーバーは冬眠しなかったはず。あちこち見渡したけれど姿は見えませんでした。
でも、池の周りの木々はこのように何本も倒されていて、ビーバーの歯の強さに驚きました。だって、こんなに太い木を何本も！！！
We found a beaver lodge! We didn't see any beavers around but we saw lots of trees which were chewed down. Juliett and I were amazed to see how big trees they could chew!

気持ちいいドライブでした。
車で通り過ぎる農場には何頭も赤ちゃん牛が見えてジュリと歓声を上げたり、今までレイベン？レイバン？（日本語でなんて書くか忘れた、カラスに似ているけれどカラスよりより大きい黒い鳥）とマグパイくらいしか見なかったのに、他の鳥が見えて笑顔になったり。
It was a fun drive. The most exciting thing is seeing some signs of spring! We saw some calves in farms by Highway, birds which were away during winter time, and some bugs. 
Now the sun is still up around Juliett's bed time, I am looking forward to experiencing the longest day.   

日は随分伸びて、もう夜の９時にも外を普通に歩ける明るさになりました。朝も太陽の光を感じて起きられるいい季節到来（すぐに日の出が早すぎるくらいになる、のかな。）今年はかなり北にいるので、夏至の日の辺りが楽しみです。真夜中近くまで明るい。。。とか？

てんとう虫も見かけるようになったし、タンポポやクローバーの芽も見つけました。春探しは楽しいな。 
長い冬よ、さらば。
短い春と夏を思い切り感じようと思います。

Easter fun

昨日は買い物にいつも行く街の中心にある公園で子供向けのイースターのイベントがあるということで、買い物ついでに行ってきました。
We went to an Easter event in a park in GP yesterday. It was sunny and warm, and a really beautiful day. 

参加料を払ってパスポートと袋をもらい、パスポートに書いてある８つのアクティビティをこなす、というイベント。アクティビティーはクッキーデコレーション、輪投げなどのゲーム、たまごのタトゥー、など、ジュリにとっては楽しいものばかりで、嬉しくて嬉しくて始終ぴょんぴょん跳ねてました。
At the entrance, we paid $5 for Juliett, then she got a bag with a passport and some small goodies. The passport was for the games and fun activities there, Juliett was very excited doing all the activities and getting stamps.

エッグハントもあって、広場の入り口で受付の人が持っているカードを引き、そこに書いてあるミッションをこなす、というゲーム、ジュリのカードには「黄色のたまごを４つ、デザインついたたまごを２つ」と書いてあって、お兄さんがそれを読み終わるか終わらないかのうちにジュリは鉄砲玉のように広場に駆けて、一生懸命たまごを探してました。

Juliett enjoyed decorating a cookie, and doing games there. They had "Egg hunt" too. Each kids pick one card from a pile of cards, and each card said what number and what kinds of eggs they needed to collect. Juliett's card said "4 yellow eggs and 2 designed eggs". As soon as we finished reading it, Juliett ran and started collecting eggs!

そんな姿を見ながら、何でも一丁前にできるようになって、私とも対等に言い合いをしたりするジュリだけれど、こんなシンプルなことにも本気で取り組んで本気で喜ぶ、まだまだ小さな５歳なんだなぁ。。としみじみ感じました。（写真：ミッション達成、満足そうな顔）

それにしてもどこからこんなに集まったのか、と思うくらいどこも家族だらけで、人ごみの嫌いな主人は「あぁ、久しぶりに日本にいるみたいな気持ちだ（混んでるから）」と。
でもジュリのために頑張って並んでくれていて、感心、感心。
一番の大行列は動物に触れるミニ（ファーム）動物園でした。 
It was so busy there, every activities had long line ups, Col saw the huge crowd and said that that reminded him Japan a lot. Juliett waited patiently for everything and did all the fun things. 

アルパカ！それにドンキー！ミニチュアホースと普通の馬と牛、アヒルと七面鳥、にわとりに羊、ブタにヤギ、いろいろいる！

ジュリは「ウサギを抱っこする！」ってそれはもうルンルン。
私は動物たちのいいお顔を写真に収めようとうろうろするも、小さな柵に入れられた大きな動物たちは本当に退屈そうで、笑顔も撮れず。

Juliett and I were excited going to the petting zoo. We saw a horse, a miniature horse, an alpaca, a donkey, a pig, a sheep, a goat, a cow, and some ducks and bunnies! Juliett wanted to hold a bunny and I wanted to take some good photos of animals.

待って、待って、ずっと待って、ようやく順番がきて、念願のウサギ抱っこができたジュリ。嬉しそうでした。良かったね。

私はうさぎがあんまりに小さくて、か弱い感じがして、なぜか抱っこが出来なかった。
目の青いあひるを見てびっくり、あひるってみんなそうだっけ？日本でも人気（だった？）というアルパカの癒しショットを！とカメラを向けたら歯を見せたところが写っちゃって。。。歯が出るとちょっと「悪」な感じのアルパカ。
Alpacas were(still are?) very popular in Japan, they like the cute faces. I am not a big fan of the looks but I thought I would take a cute photo and put on my blog. I failed... It showed its teeth and looked a bit scary (to me). 

しかも、牛は完全に寝ていて、馬とアルパカは近すぎて体を動かすスペースなし、ドンキーは名前が「アミーゴ（友達）」なのに、うつむき加減で、子供たちもよらず本当につまらなそう＆悲しそうで、早く農場に返してあげたくなりました。
The big animals were put in a small narrow cage, and they didn't look happy at all, they looked very board.... nothing to do.....poor animals. 
風もなく気温も１０度近くまで上がって気持ちのいい１日でした。

イースターサンデーの今日は、教会へ行かない私たちだけれど文化としてイースターのアクティビティを楽しもう、と、ジュリと一緒にたまごのデコレーションとエッグハントをしました。
Today, we did some Easter activities at home.
We dyed boiled eggs. I wanted to try dying naturally but I found that we didn't have enough materials, so we decided to dye with food colour. 

本当は紫キャベツ、ターメリック、コーヒー、クランベリーなどなどを使って、たまごの色付けを自然のものでやってみようと思っていたのだけれど、材料が揃わないのと、大掛かりな作業になりそうで、またいつかに持ち越し。
今日はフードカラーを使って、マスキングテープで模様をつけてから色づけ。
We decorated the eggs with some pieces of masking tape first, then dipped them in the coloured water.

Juliett decorated three eggs, the pink with a bow one, the yellow one, and the light blue one. Col and I really liked her bow one, we decided that it was the best egg of the six.  

ジュリが細いテープ作ったピンクに白のリボン柄はすごくかわいくできて家族コンテストで１位獲得。
他にジュリは黄色に白、青に白、そこに色鉛筆で絵を描いたりしていました。
主人はひとつの卵を何度も別の色に落として模様を作りました。
私はピンクと白のボーダーと、紫にピンクの水玉。

Colin decorated one, the colourful lines one, and I made the purple and pink polka dots one,  and the cat in the hat one.

いつもはジュリと私、とか、ジュリと友達、でクラフトをやるので、主人も参加してジュリはすごく嬉しそう、隣に座って仲良くやってました。

Usually Colin doesn't join our craft time, so Juliett looked very happy doing this with her Daddy. It was a fun family time.

エッグハントはフロントヤードで。
まだ緑もなくどこも丸見えの中のエッグハントはとても簡単だったけれど、それでも楽しそうにあちこち走り回って探してました。
子供っていいなぁ。

I put(hid) some eggs in the front yard and Juliett did egg hunt too.
There were nowhere to hide eggs, it was so easy for her to find eggs, but she really enjoyed it too. 

まぁ、一番楽しいのはたまごを開けてチョコレートやシールや小さいおもちゃを見ること。
春の妖精になった気分でハロウィーンの時の羽をつけてお庭を駆け回っていたジュリさん、今日も気温が１０度以上まで上がって、シャボン玉をしたり、靴を見ればわかるけれどもうすぐ始まるサッカークラスに向けて親子で練習したり、春の温かい日差しを思い切り楽しんでいました。
Col and Juliett plays soccer in the backyard every day, they are looking forward to the soccer class that will start the end of this month. 

そんな２人を横目に私はイースターディナーの準備。
いつもなら今頃はたくさんの家族と豪華なターキーやハム、それにいろんなのいっぱい、そしてデザート。

We didn't have traditional Easter dinner, we made lots of Gyoza together and I baked an apple pie for dessert. Both of them were delicious. 

今年はここで３人。
なので、３人の大好きな餃子をいっぱい作って、デザートにはアップルパイを焼きました。
芝生の色が本当に少しずつだけれど、緑になっています、夜も９時近くまで日が出ています。 嬉しい季節の始まりです。

Easter party snack

今年はカルガリーの主人の実家に帰省しないので、全くイースターな雰囲気はないけれど、今年のグッドフライデーは今週金曜日、そしてイースターサンデー、マンデーはそれに続く日曜、月曜、ここの地域の学校は引き続き１５日まで春休みになります。

It was Easter Party at Juliett's kindergarten, they are having a spring break after Easter Monday. Col decided not to visit Calgary this holiday, and we don't have any plans for 10days.........  :(

去年はプリスクールで月に１度くらいスナック当番があって、季節に合わせたお菓子を作ったり買ったりして持っていくのが楽しかったけれど、今ジュリが通うキンダーガーテンはおやつは引き続き必要なんだけれど、個々におやつバッグに入れて持っていくというやり方で、去年味わった「みんな喜んでくれるかなぁ。。」なんてドキドキしながらお菓子を焼いたりする感じはすっかりなくなってました。

でも、年に４回かな？クラスでパーティーがあって、ボランティアが紙皿・ナプキン・紙コップ・野菜・フルーツ・飲み物・そして甘いものをそれぞれサインアップして持ち寄ることになっていて、私は９月の学校が始まった時に何を思ったか忘れたけれどイースターパーティーのデザートに名前を書いてきていました。
I signed up for "Easter Party sweets" volunteer. I was looking forward to making something spring like for the party.

今日は春休みの前の最後の日、イースターパーティー。
何がいいかなぁ。。。と悩んで悩んで作ったのは、ライスクリスピーで巣を作ってそこにチョコエッグを入れたのと、マシュマロとジェリービーンズのカップケーキ。
すっごい楽しみにしていたのに簡単なものにしてしまった。（カップケーキは始めてミックスを使って超簡単）
でもジュリがすっごく喜んでくれたから、みんなも喜んでくれた、かな？そうだといいな。
I made these rice crispy nests with chocolate eggs. Very easy, but very, very cute!

ライスクリスピーのネストは本当にかわいくて、私はアレルギーとかのことが心配で一番シンプルな材料で作ったけれど、自分たちや友達に作るときは、ココアパウダーを入れたり、ナッツを入れたりしたらもっと巣らしくなっていいんじゃないかな、と思いました。水色の卵だけにしたら、３年前にナナのキッチンの前のライラックで成長を応援したロビンの巣みたい。とってもかわいい！

Juliett helped me a lot, when we were making them, we remembered the robins and the nest at Nana's kitchen lilac tree. I made very simple ones for school but I thought we might make them again with nuts and cocoa powder, then they might look more nest like!  

ミックスは、自分がベイキングが好きなのにミックスを使うのはずるしている感じを勝手に思っていて使ったことがなかったけれど、先日新しいお友達とプレイデートしたジュリがお友達とお家で作らせてもらったカップケーキがとってもしっとりしていて、しかもカラフルなつぶつぶまで入っていて、おいしかったのを機会に使ってみようか、とお店で手に取りました。
やっぱりとってもしっとり。どうやったらこんなにしっとり作れるんだろう。

We also made the cupcakes. I used a cupcake mix for the first time, and I found that they were quite nice, had moist, and very soft too. I put some icing and decorated with marshmallow and jelly beans. I was not satisfied with the looks but Juliett liked them a lot, which was good. 

イースターに向けてクラスで作ったクラフトはこんなにいっぱい。大きな体のウサギの絵はラミネートしてあってランチマットに出来るようなので家で使わせてあげようかな。
After school she brought so many Easter crafts they did at school. I like the drawing! Very cute. 

Well,..... no plan for 10 free days. Juliett and I wanted to go to Calgary though, ....we will have some fun for sure.
Maybe we should sort out stuff, prepare for a garage sale and start packing for summer.    

さて、１５日までの予定なしの春休み。何をしようかな。
片付け、かな。また夏にすることになりそうな引越しに向けて荷造り、かな。

割れたたまごを作りたくて歯で割ったけれど、当然チョコレートが詰まっているわけで。。。　ちなみに卵型のライスクリスピーの中にもチョコのたまごを詰めていたジュリ。ここにひよこのチョコレートを入れるって言うアイディアも学校のスナックに良かったかもね！

Happy Birthday, friends!

 ４月にはいって随分暖かくなりました。昨日は午後には１３℃まであがったそう。
It has been quite warm these days, it was 13 degrees yesterday! 
Finally Spring has come to this village.

日曜日はジュリのベストフレンドのお誕生日会でした。かわいい手描きのインビテーションをもらって、ジュリはそれはそれは楽しみにしていました。テーマはガーデンパーティー！

お友達の家に着くと、天井には私もジュリの時に作ったティッシュペーパーのお花。春の花らしく、薄いピンクと濃いピンク、それにきれいな黄緑のポンポンも飾ってあって、とても色使いがかわいかった。
It was Juliett's best friend's birthday party on Sunday. Juliett received a cute invitation. We all were invited to it and we all were very excited cerebrating her special day.  
 キンダーのクラスメートも何人か来ていて、家族ぐるみで仲良くしているので主人と私もそのままパーティーに参加させてもらって、賑やかなパーティーが始まりました。
Her mom and dad are very creative people and good at baking, cooking, and making things. They prepared the cute decorations, and the paper mache unicorn pinata, and the beautiful flower garden cake.  

クラフトではテラコッタの植木鉢をアルファベットやお花でデコレーション。みんなそれぞれかわいいの作りました。
 ドレスアップをしたり、妖精ごっこをしたり、お友達のお部屋で楽しんだ後はケーキの時間。バースデーソングに合わせて登場したのはベイキングが得意なお母さんが焼いたケーキにクラフトが得意なお父さんがデコレーションしたケーキ。ガーデンのテーマにぴったりなケーキでした。みんなはかわいいお花と妖精たちに大興奮。
The theme was "garden party". At craft time, kids received terracotta flower pots each and decorated them. Everyone made cute ones.  
I made the tissue pompom flowers for Juliett birthday party too, but they made pink flowers and also beautiful yellow green pompoms and I really liked the idea, the green ones made the rooms more spring like.    

少し肌寒かったけれど、それでも子供たちは平気平気。
庭でユニコーンのピニャータを順番にたたいてたくさんのシールやお菓子を拾ったあとは、みんなシャボン玉液をもらってシャボン玉を作って遊びました。ピニャータはお父さんの手作り。スケートのカーニバルの時もペパーマシェできれいなスプーンを作ったお父さん、今回は娘ちゃんの希望でユニコーンに挑戦。風船をベースに上手なピニャータ作ってました。ほんと、すごいや。
When I heard that her(birthday girl's) dad was going to make a unicorn pinata, I even couldn't imagine how, but he did it amazingly. The kids were very excited hitting it, Juliett's turn was the 4th, and you see in the photo, one of the legs already fell and the body had some cracks too, but it lasted till the last girl's turn, very nice. I would like make a pinata in the future, maybe for next Juliett's birthday?    

やっぱり手作りがいっぱいなパーティーっていいな。忙しい中頑張って作っていた様子も見ていたので、友達（お母さんとお父さん）の気持ちのいっぱいこもった素敵なパーティーを間近で見て、幸せな気分になりました。
お土産にもらったのはガーデンセット。シャベルや手袋、それにお花の種も！かわいいアイディアです。 
Girls were so excited seeing this flower garden cake! And the birthday girl looked very happy with the beautiful cake.
The icing flowers reminded me about sugar decorations my mom learned when I was young. I'd like to learn it too!  

ジュリからはバレリーナ人形を作ってそれらをステージでマグネットを使ってくるくる躍らせることの出来るかわいいクラフトセットをプレゼント。私からは（プレイデートの時に私も思い切り一緒に遊んでもらっているので友達気分）、ジュリとおそろいのエプロンを。これをつけてベイキングをママと楽しんでね、と言う気持ちをこめて。
We all enjoyed the party very much, the kids had fun blowing bubbles and dressing up too. It was a very nice party. I like parties that have many handmade ideas.
The birthday girl gave guests "thank you" bags which had cute garden and flower goods!! Such a cute idea! Juliett really liked her own shovel(not plastic toy one)!

他のお友達が帰ったあとも、残って一緒に遊びました。
実は今日がお誕生日の弟君にも内緒でプレゼントを用意してました。ロボットの大好きな弟君。いつもプレイデートする時はジュリのこともすごく慕ってくれて、仲良しのお友達です。かわいくて優しくて、私の癒しの存在。
そんな彼のためにコツコツ作っていたのは、こちら。大きなロボット。お腹のところを開けると、プレゼントとカードが出てくるようにしました。
It was not only her birthday party but also it was a day before her brother's birthday. He is a really good friend with Juliett too. Juliett and I wanted to give him something special and we made the big robot(he loves robots). We put a gift in the chest box and tied a ribbon, and hid it in our car until the party ends.  

これをススススーとすべり歩かせながら、主人とジュリと「ハッピーバースデーOO(お友達）！」とロボット声で弟君のところまで進めました。すっごい喜んでる弟君の顔！目がキラキラして、私はもうそのお顔を見ただけで作ってよかったぁぁ。。。と思ったのでした。大成功。
After the party, I brought the robot from the car and pushed it to in front of  him, Juliett and Col and I had practiced saying "Happy Birthday" in robot voice and planned to say it while I was pushing it but I wasn't sure we sounded very robot-y.
 I was very happy when I saw his big smile to see the robot.    

家に戻った後に、友達ママから「本当に気に入って、自分のブランケットをかけてロボットにお昼寝をさせてあげてる」と、写真が送られてきました。昨日の夜はお腹のところに大切なものを全部入れて、名前も付けてくれたのだそう。
Our friends(his parents) told me that he really liked the robot and took a very good care of it. How sweet!  

お友達の誕生日なのに、作った私が幸せになった１日でした。
お友達、お誕生日おめでとう！
