ジュリ９ヶ月。今日、家族３人で初めて車で遠出をしました。いとこの家とIKEA港北に行って来ました。カルガリーでIKEAに行ってから、日本のも見てみたくなってしまって。(ちなみに主人ほか、カナダの人たちはIKEAを”アイキーア”と言ってた。でもどうやらスウェーデン語では”イケア”と読むみたい。）
カルガリーほど大きくないだろうと思っていたけれど、同じくらい大きくて、もう私は大興奮。ジュリもカートに乗ってずっとご機嫌。主人も｢広くて気持ちいい。カルガリーにいるみたいだ！」って嫌いなショッピングを私よりも楽しんでました。
今まで、店内のカートや子供用椅子に乗せたことがなかったけれど、デビューしてみました。そしたらベビーカーより高さがあって嬉しいのか、どちらもぐずることもなくお話したり手を振ったりして楽しんでました。おかげでランチもできたし、ゆっくり買い物もできました。こうやってどんどん抱っこじゃなくても大丈夫になっていくんだなぁと思うとちょっと寂しいけれど・・・。Juliett is 9 months old.
My husband, Juliett, and I went to IKEA in Kanagawa(120km far from our town) today. I was surprised to know that the sizes of the stores there and in Calgary were about the same. It was huge. I was excited seeing showrooms and my husband also enjoyed looking around the displays.
Juliett liked sitting on the dining chair at the restaurant there and also riding on the cart.
午後にいとこの家に到着。いとこ２人とその子供たち４人と久しぶりに会って嬉しくて大騒ぎでした。ジュリもお兄ちゃんやお姉ちゃんたちに抱っこしてもらったり、黙々と一人で遊んだり。やっぱ、子供同士って楽しいし何か感じるんだろうなぁって思います。
After shopping at IKEA, we went to my cousin's apartment. She has a daughter(she made a great speech at our wedding party) and a son. My cousin's sister also was visiting with her 2 boys. So the 4 kids and Juliett were there. All of the kids were so active and noisy! Juliett looked very happy with them, she was so noisy too. It was great for us to get together with them. We had a fun time there.
帰りの車でもずっとおしゃべりしたり、ニコニコしたり、パチパチしたり。よっぽど楽しかったんだろうなぁ。Juliett was a very good girl all day today. She didn't cry at all. She was so happy on the way home too. Clapping her hands, talking, and smiling. She had a really nice her 9 months birthday.

That sounds like a great day. How funny to see pictures of Ikea in Japan after taking pictures of Juliett at Ikea in Calgary not so long ago! Did you buy anything? I'm glad you were able to visit family.

コストコっていうスーパーにも行ってみたくて、私は『海外』『大型』っていうキーワードに弱い気がします・・・。

Col had told me that IKEA was a really good store since we started dating and I wanted to go there. At last I could have the IKEA tour in Calgary with you. It was so so fun!
When we planned to visit my cousin, we found out the new IKEA(there are 2 in Japan now) was close to her house.
We bought a wood toy for Juliett and some kitchen cloths. We know that we are moving in a year, we didn't get any big stuff.
Col said that he felt nostalgic at the store. He enjoyed eating there too(two hotdogs, pasta, bread, icecream, chocolate-mousse!).

IKEA、カナダ並みにすごく広くて、ゆっくり見れば半日以上過ごせるところだと思ったよ。いつか行けるといいね。きっと旦那さんも一緒に２人で楽しめるよ。
COSTCOもカルガリーにあって、食材買いに行った事あるけれど、他のスーパーマーケットもみんなとっても大きいので、いつかカナダにringoさんが遊びに来てくれることがあったら、大型スーパーツアーとかしたらおもしろいだろうね。
私もスーパーマーケットって大好き。旅行に行く時は必ず現地のスーパーを見るようにしてるんだ。お菓子(チーズもね♪)や日用品のパッケージとかかわいいのに出会えたりするしね。
