Bee Keeping Family

主人の弟は趣味で蜂の養殖を約１年前にはじめました．
初めて採れたはちみつを食べさせてもらったら、とってもおいしくて、はちみつ嫌いなジュリまでが「おじちゃんの蜂蜜はおいしい。」とパンに塗って食べるほど。
My brother-in-law started bee keeping about a year ago.
His first honey was so delicious that even Juliett who didn't like honey before said " I like uncle K's honey very much!".

そんな弟に影響されてか、主人の父も趣味として蜂の養殖をこの春にはじめました。
いろいろあって、場所は近所の義妹の家族の庭に設置。
それをみんなで見せてもらおう。。。と言うことになりました。
Then my father-in-law started bee keeping as one of his hobbies this spring at my sister-in-law's parents house.(this sounds very complicated, but actually it is not at all, it is very simple.)
We all went to the house to see his bees.
始めた頃は宇宙人のような重装備をして取り掛かっていた義弟だったのに、「刺さないから大丈夫だよ。」と普段着でささっと蜂の巣を取り出して見せてくれました。
わお、蜂がいっぱい。このフィルターみたいのが何枚も箱の中に入っています。
There were lots of honey bees! I was sitting very close to the bee hive, but they were really good bees.

こうやって蜂の巣箱を置くことで、いつの間にか義妹家族も蜂に詳しくなってきて、主人も興味津々だし、みんな集まると蜂の会話が多かったなぁ。。。
It is interesting that 2 families are getting interested in bee keeping. Everyone has more knowledge about bee than before, I wonder when my husband　will start saying that he would like to do it too. I am interested in it too.
パパのお庭も素敵なんだけれど、ガーデニングが大好きな義妹のお母さんのお庭はとっても素敵。
ジュリはお庭でゲームをしたり、地面に落ちたクラブアップルの実をつぶしてお料理したり。
私はお花の写真を撮ったり、義妹のママにガーデニングの話を聞いたり。この時間がいつもとっても楽しみなんです。
Juliett played games and smashed young crab apples and made "soup"?"soap"?(I forgot) at the beautiful garden. I enjoyed taking pictures and looked at those beautiful flowers and greens.
写真を撮っている時に、スカビオサに似ているなぁ。。でも、カナダで見たことなかったし、別の花かなぁ。。。と思った花が。
[これって何の花？」「それは、スカビオサって言うのよ。」「ほんと～！！！？」
あるんだ～！カナダでもあるのね、今まで見なかっただけなんだ、嬉しい！
［ピンクとパープルしか苗がなかったけれど、他の色もあるのかしら？」と言う義妹ママ。
「あるよ、あるよ、チョコレートみたいな色や、濃いピンク、白と黄緑のだってある。大好きな花なの！」と大興奮でした。私も来年、苗が買えたらいいな。
I noticed these flowers looked like Scabiosa, one of my most favourite flowers, and asked the plant's name to my sister-in-law's mom(this garden's gardener). She told me that it was Scabiosa!!! I was very happy to know that we can get it in Canada, I didn't know that! I couldn't find it at plants stores, nurseries or green houses.
どこをとっても絵になる素敵なお庭。りすやうさぎもちょこちょこ覗きに来ます。
たくさんのきれいな花と緑に出会いました。
What a beautiful garden. Every pictures I took there was like beautiful postcards.
義妹が［四葉のクローバー見つけたよ。引越しとこれからの生活がうまくいきますように！」ってくれました。
すごいね！どこで見つけたの？っておしゃべりしながらずっとクローバーを見ていたら、私もひとつ発見。
義妹にもお返しにいいことありますようにって渡したら、「私は大丈夫、ジュリとErikoの分、持っていて。」って。
My sister-in-law found a four leaves clover and gave it to me, she said that it was a good luck for our new life in a new town(village). How kind she was, it touched me a lot.

Then I found one too. I tried to give it to her, but she said that it was for Juliett, she was quite good at finding four leaves clover. I thought how wonderful to have such a talent because she can make herself and lots of people lucky!! Thank you, L, I put them between my favourite pages in my favourite book !!
