Julie's Flat Stanley adventure

春休みにナナに連れて行ってもらった、フラットスタンレー君の冒険のミュージカル。
そのもとになった、フラットスタンレー君の冒険の本（邦題　「ぺちゃんこスタンレー」）があります。ある晩、ベッドの横に飾ってあったボードが落ちてきて、平らになってしまったスタンレー君が封筒に入って世界のあちこちに行って冒険をするお話。
I wrote about that Juliett's Nana took us to "the musical adventures of Flat Stanley" when we visited Calgary in April. Juliett saw the show at a very good timing because her class did Flat Stanley projects during as a part of their social class. 

２年生は社会の時間にカナダ国内についてほぼ１年かけて勉強しました。それの仕上げに、先生がフラットスタンレー君を町以外（カナダ国内外問わず）に暮らす家族や友達のところに送る冒険プロジェクトを提案して、４月末に生徒たちがそれぞれ自分で色を塗ったフラットスタンレーくんに手紙を添えて、町から送ったのでした。
They learned about some communities in Canada at social. Children sent their own Flat Stanley and a letter to a family or a friend who live out of town. 

ジュリは「私は日本のＭちゃんに送りたい！」と、そのプロジェクトの概要をウキウキ家に持ち帰ってきました。私もＭちゃん家族ならきっと楽しんでやってくれると思って、お願いしてみたところ、嬉しいお返事。さっそく住所を学校に送りました。
When Juliett heard about the project, she told me that she wanted to send her Flat Stanley to one of our best family friends in Japan. I thought that was an awesome idea because I knew they would like this kind of projects, I asked my friend and she told me "yes". ;)

ジュリのフラットスタンリーくん、日本のＭちゃんのお家に無事に届いて、 羨ましくなるような日々をＭちゃんとＭちゃん家族と過ごしてきてくれたようです。たくさんの写真と一緒に無事に学校に戻ってきた、と先生から教えてもらって、今日、社会の時間にクラスみんなのスタンレー君たちがどこでどんな旅をしてきたのか、発表し合ったようです。
The students sent their letters at end of April and it sounded like all replies came back. Juliett told me that today they showed photos and read letters to the class.

今日、ジュリの話だと、みんなでカーペットに集まって発表する生徒が写真とお手紙などを見せながら自分のスタンレーがどこに行ってどんな旅をしたのか発表したようです。
Ｍちゃんは本当にいろんなところにスタンレー君を連れて行ってくれていて、自分の小学校、ランドセル、お家でのご馳走、書道教室にそろばんを使っているところ、こいのぼり、池の鯉、昔の建物、田んぼで田植えをしている人をみつけてくれたり、三嶋大社では神主さん！や振袖を着ている人と撮ってくれたり、そしてもちろん富士山も、さらにサプライズでうちの実家でばぁばの写真も、全部をアルバムにして入れてくれていて、みんなとても興味津々に話を聞きながら写真を見たそうです。
Juliett's Flat Stanley had a fantastic adventure in Japan! Our friends even made an album and sent many photos of the Stanley having lots of fun with them! Juliett's friend M took him to her school, after school activity class(calligraphy), Mishima shrine, rice field, and even to my parents house! The pictures showed lots of interesting things, such as a pond full of carp swimming, old very Japanese style house, their sashimi dinner, bento box, Mt. Fuji, and more! I really, really appreciate their kindness. They are so nice!

ちょうど書道を結構最近やったばかりだったから、書道教室の写真など、すごく興味深かったんじゃないかなって思うけれど、おいしそうな友達手作りの幼稚園に通う息子くんへのお弁当や夕食のお刺身の写真にみんな「ん～！おいしそう！」って盛り上がっていたらしい。あと、振袖のお姉さん（すごくかわいいお姉さん）に「うゎ～！きれぇぇ～！」って。
Juliett said that her classmates were "mmm~! yum!" to the food photos and "wow!" to the kimono lady photo. :) 

地域の勉強だったから、フラットスタンレー君が到着したところはどんな地域で、どんな特徴があるのか、なんてそういう勉強的なプリントも一緒に送っていて（今日まで知らなかったんだけれど）、友達夫婦が一生懸命英語で答えてくれていて、本当にありがたく感じました。ごめんね、こういうのって、答えるの大変だったよね。本当に忙しい中、楽しんで協力してくれてどうもありがとう！
I didn't know that the letter also included a sheet with some questions about the community. I felt bad because our friends must have had a hard time writing answers in English. They did a wonderful job though, I know it is always so hard to answer properly in English, it is still hard for me to do it and I usually ask Col to help or check for me.
A big thanks to our friends who enjoyed doing the project for Juliett.

日本を満喫して山に戻ってきたスタンレー君は今日初めてうちにきました。
日本旅してきていいなぁ。。。大好きな友達家族といっぱい楽しいことしてきて羨ましいなぁ！
Her Flat Stanley came home today. Welcome home!

昨日、ボランティアに行った時に、明日スタンレー君の旅の発表会があると聞いて、それだったら私に世界地図を作らせてもらえないか、と提案してみました。 子供たちが発表しながらどこに行ったか印を貼って見れたらおもしろいうと思って。すごく大きな紙に世界地図を本を見ながら描いておきました。
When I volunteered her class yesterday, I asked her teacher if I could make a big map for the class, so that children could put stickers on and see where their Flat Stanley traveled. I made a big map for them.  

授業の終わりにみんなで地図を見たら、カナダのあちこち、やっぱりアルバータ州内が圧倒的に多かったそうだけれど、マニトーバ、ケベック、オンタリオ、ノヴァスコーシア、あとは南アフリカ、オーストラリア、そして日本にスティッカーが貼ってあって、山の中の小さな町からスタンレー君がいろんなところに冒険してきたのを感じたのだそう。
Juliett told me that they got many stickers at Edmonton, and also in Alberta. She said that they had Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, South Africa, Australia, and Japan. :) 

楽しいプロジェクトでした。こういうことに喜んで楽しんで協力してくれる友達がいて幸せです。
ジュリの２年生生活もあと２週間。９月から３年生だなんてびっくりです。
It was a fun project.
Juliett's grade 2 school life will finish in 2 weeks, I can't imagine that she will be a grade 3 student soon! We are all excited about our summer holidays.

our first summer hiking

夏を向かえる前にハイキングで体を慣らしておかないと、山に登れなくなっちゃうと思って、家族でハイキングに行ってきました。家から歩いて出発し、町の南側の森の中のトレイルをぐるりと回って戻ってくるコース。４時間歩きました。
Before summer break, we wanted to do some hike to make ourselves in a bit better fit again for climbing mountains. We went for a 4 hour hike this morning. We walked from home and walked on a trail which goes along a river.

冬の間も時々歩きに来たこの道。緑がどんどん増えて、景色が随分変わりました。
Lots more green than a few week ago! 

今まで歩いたことがなかったトレイルを歩いてみました。よく行くあの水色の川に沿ったトレイルで何箇所か眺めのいい開けた場所があって、軽く休憩しながら。
ここの眺めはすごかった。パノラマ機能が今のカメラについていないので、３枚の写真でどうぞ。
We have never walked this trail before, there were some lookout places and from there the view was fantastic! I loved it!
I wished that my camera got a panorama function. :)

この写真を撮っている時、後ろの木の上で鳥がとてもきれいな声で鳴いていて、てっきりロビンかと思ったら、こんな黄色い鳥でした。ワーブラーかなぁ。（追記。本を見ていたら、くちばしの辺りが朱色っぽい Western Tanager かも知れないと。説明を読むと、鳴き方がロビンに似てるとも書いてあるので。）
When we were standing at the rim and enjoying the view, a bird was singing beautifully all the time. Col found it on a branch, it was bright yellow. Is it a warbler? or maybe western tanager? just because we thought it was a robin when we were listening until Col spotted it. In my book, it says that western tanager's song is close to robin's song, and also it's orangish around its beak.

ジュリも練習だと言って自分のバックパックを背負って歩きました（中身は水筒とお菓子とキューティー）。
主人と私はクリスマスに主人の両親からプレゼントしてもらったハイキング用のスティックを持って。軽くて、小川を渡ったり、泥道を避けながら通ったりする時にすごく便利でした。でもカメラを持つから邪魔な時もあり。
Juliett decided to carry her backpack, she put some snacks, her water bottle and her best buddy, Cutie in it.
Col and I used our walking poles that Col's parents gave us for Christmas gifts. They are light, useful especially when we walked over water, and muddy place. 

そして、もちろんベアスプレーも主人と私で１本ずつ。
クーガー（ピューマ）と熊がこわいから、声を出しながら歩き続けました。
We carried our bear spray bottles too. We kept talking.

この花、すごく好き。去年も写真をいくつも撮ったアネモネみたいな花。

ブルーベルも。

気配を感じて遠くを見ると、鹿がこっちの様子をうかがってました。これはズームで撮ったけれど、距離はかなり離れています。
こういう風に動物を発見するのはいつも私。だけれど、多分気づかないだけで、今日もたくさんの動物たちがこうやって静かに私たちのことを見ていたんだろうなぁ。
I noticed that the deer was cautiously watching us, maybe we didn't notice but many animals were watching us today.

この花は去年は見なかった気がする。本にも載っていないんだけれど、なんだろう。
花だけ見ると少しクレマチスっぽい、けれど、たけがとても短くて、下向いてます。
I found this flower. I don't think we saw this flower last year.
When I got home, I looked up my books but couldn't find its name. (I found it was Clematis, when I saw the flowers I thought they looked like Clematis, but it didn't have vines and it was very short, so I didn't know. I am glad my guess was right.)

（これも追記。見つかりました。なんと！野生のクレマチス、なのだそう。蔓を巻いていなかったからお花は似てるけれど違うと思ったんだけれど。だんだん花のこと見当がつくようになってきたかな、そうだと嬉しいです。）

あぁ、今日も熊に会わずに無事にハイクを終えた、と、トレイルヘッドが見えてきた時、足元でゴソゴソゴソっと何かが動いてびっくり。見てみると、大きなカエルでした～！
When the trail head was ahead and I thought "ah, we have done a great hike without bumping into bears", I heard something was moving just a few steps ahead.
It was a toad. :)

ルンルル～ン♪　まだまだ歩けるよ～♪

久々の長いハイキング、最後には主人も私も疲れてたけれど、ジュリはずっとしゃべってずっと元気でした。体力つけなきゃいけないのは確実に私たちだ。
Col and I were very tired.... we definitely need practices. Juliett was super fine. She was chatting all the time, and she didn't complain at all, maybe she wanted to walk more.

貴重なこの美しい季節にたくさん野外で自然を楽しみたいです。
I hope we can do lots of hiking this beautiful season.

dandelion yellow!

朝の気温はゼロ℃、窓には薄い霜が張ってるんだけれど、外の光が眩しくて眩しくて寝ていられない。そう、６月２１日が近づいてきて、日がものすごく長いカナダです。
朝早くから青空に太陽がキラキラ。今日はとてもいいお天気になる予感。
「お、カラスがデッキに遊びに来てるぞ」と主人。山をバックにいい写真撮れました。山ではカラスも大ガラス（レイヴェン）も日本の都会のゴミを荒らすカラスみたいな悪者ではない感じです。
We had a visitor at our deck this morning. It was cold(0℃) but very bright, we knew it would be a beautiful day today.

午後は友達とラビリンスに行って野草で遊びました。
一面のタンポポに加えて、つくしやナズナも生えていて、すごく懐かしい気分になった。ナズナの葉っぱを少しずつずらしてベルにしたり、つくしの節の部分を一箇所抜いて、また抜いた部分を戻してどこの節が実は取れるか当てたり、そういうことを小学校の帰り道に友達としながら帰った話を友達にしたらびっくりしてました。（同じような植物が生えていたこと、そしてそういう幼少期を過ごしていたことに驚いた様子）
After lunch, we went to a park with our friends. Dandelions everywhere! We played with dandelions and other wild flowers, it was so much fun! That reminded me when I was at my elementary school. I walked to/from school with friends, it took about 30~40 minutes walk and we picked weeds and did lots of fun on the way home from school.
I love this kind of relax, peaceful, and also fun time with friends.We had a great time today.

シロツメクサの冠はまだお花が咲いてなくて作れないので、タンポポで。
タンポポもこんなに咲くとすてき。日本にいた時タンポポは本当にただの雑草、気にもしなかったけれど、ここに来てから、「タンポポが咲けば本当に春」って言う感じがして、いつの間にかすごく好きになってました。 色もとっても鮮やかで青空と新緑に合います。
青空の下、友達とのんびり、でも笑いの絶えない時間って久しぶりで母娘共々すごく楽しみました。
I didn't care about dandelions when I was in Japan. But, dandelion are signs of beginning of wonderful season in Canada to me and I like them. The bright yellow looks really good with the beautiful blue sky and fresh green.

Julie's homework and Origami

６月のはじめですが、昨日の夜は雪でした～！寒いィィ。
We had snow last night... it was quite cold today. It is JUNE!!!

数日前、ジュリが遊ぶ時間もそっちのけで黙々と作っていたモデルたち。
キッチンで夕食を作っていた私はただ粘土で遊んでいるのかと思っていたのだけれど、出来上がったものを見せてもらってちょっと感動。こんなに細かいところまでいろいろ作れる歳なんだ、と。
When I was cooking supper a few days ago, Juliett was working on her homework. I knew she was making something with clay but I didn't know details. I was very surprised by seeing her work after our supper was done, she did an awesome job making those creatures!

学校の読み書きの時間に、小説を読んでみないかと先生が声をかけてくれたみたいで、「エイリアンが僕の宿題を食べちゃった」と言う小説を読んだらしい。で、クラスでその感想やその本について発表したようなんだけれど、さらにもしも興味があったら、宿題としてこんなことをやってきてもいいよ、というアイディアの書いた紙をもらって、その中の、「本の中の登場人物を２人選び、粘土でモデルを作って、その人物についてまとめ、前に出て粘土のモデルを見せながら説明する」と言うのを選んだようでした。
She told me that she read this book "Aliens ate my homework" at literacy class and wrote report about the book, then her teacher asked if she wanted to do more work as her homework and she told her 'yes'. She got a list of homework ideas and she chose one that was making 2 characters models and write about them, then talk about them in front of class. 

粘土なんて家でやらないから、こういう風に平らじゃなくてちゃんと立体的に物が作れるようになっていることにちょっとびっくりしました。レポートに書いてある絵も結構上手。こういうのはこういうのが得意なダディに似たのだろうと思います。
I haven't done playdough with Juliett at home since maybe she was in Kindergarten, so I was quite amazed how much details she could make now, also made those aliens not flat but 3D. Col likes this kind of things, maybe Juliett got influenced by him, that's wonderful.

さて、書道に続いて、折り紙もやらせてもらうチャンスをもらいました。しかも２度も。
これはサンプルに、１枚の紙からいろんなものが作れるのだと言うことを見てもらおうと思って持って行ったものたち。あと１２枚のピースを組み合わせる２４面体も持っていったら、これがすごく人気だった。あとやっぱり海老とか、小物入れは人気でした。
I had a chance to do Origami with her class.
I made some examples and showed them, those in the photo are some of them I brought to the class. I also made a ball made with 12 pieces of Origami parts, they thought that was really cool.

日本では今の子供たちのことはわからないけれど、私が小さかった頃は折り紙はやりたい時にすぐできる遊びで、幼稚園や小学校の頃、しょっちゅう作ってました。こうやって改めて考えてみるまで、学びと折り紙を結びつけたことはなかったけれど、折り目をきっちりつける、角と角、線と線を合わせる、力加減を気をつける、平らな紙切れが立体的なものに変わる、モータースキルの他にも学びどころがいっぱいなんだなと気がつきました。
私にとっては折り紙を折ることはあまりに慣れていて普通のことだけれど、折り紙という文化がないこの国の子供たちにとっては上に上げたような動作が一つ一つ難しくて、ジュリだって家で折り紙を少しはやってきたけれど、きっと日本の子供たちに比べたらまだまだスムースに手を動かせない。
I don't remember when I started Origami as hobby, but I think we did some at my kindergarten, also I did a lot at home when I was in elementary school, so I got so used to folding papers. Until I started doing Origami with Juliett, I didn't notice that it needed motor skill and also that it was a great activity for children. For children who have never done Origami before, making corner to corner or line to line meet perfectly is very hard.

なので、初めて「折り紙」と言うものに触れる子供たちが嫌になったり、諦めたりせずに、楽しい！って思えるようにと考えながら、「ピアノ」を始めにやろうと決めました。
I decided to make "piano" and "hopping frog" with the class, I wanted to do something they would find fun to make but not too hard.

みんなからよく見えた方がいいかと思って、包装紙を巨大折り紙として準備していって、みんなの前で見せながら折りました。
ピアノは思ったよりも随分時間がかかったけれど、でも、初めに何を作るか言わないでサプライズにして始めたので、まず誰かが「家だ！家を作ってるんでしょう？」と気づいて、「そうだね、ここに窓やドアを描いたら家になるね、でも今日はちょっと違うものを作ってるよ」と、鍵盤になる部分を持ち上げたら、「ガレージだ！ガレージが上がるぞ！」とまたまた興奮気味。折り目を強くつけて立つようにするためにもう一度両方横の部分を折ったら、「違った、ライフジャケットだ～！」と。
みんなが折っている間に、隠してマーカーでささっと鍵盤を描いて、開いて見せたら、「アァァァ～！イッツアピアーノォ！」ってみんなの目がもともと大きいけれどさらに大きくなってキラキラ。それぞれが鍵盤を描いたら、弾く真似をしたり、「私のミニピアノ！」と机に飾ったり、みんなすっごく喜んでくれました。
I didn't tell them what we are making, so they were very excited when they were making, guessing what it would be. Finally they found that they made pianos, they were very impressed and excited, I liked to see their reactions.

次、あと３０分あったので、「ひっくりカエル」を。
でも、こっちは選択ミスだったかな。やっぱり初めての子供たちがほとんどだから、だんだん厚くなる折り紙に折り目をきっちりつけて、つまみ折りとか広げてつぶす、とかそういうのがとっても難しくて、とても時間がかかった。難しすぎたかもしれない。
ベルが鳴るギリギリに形になって、お尻のところを押してぴょんとカエルが跳んだら、やっぱりみんな楽しくて、最後にまた笑顔になって一安心。
The hopping frog was much harder than the piano and I thought I might have made a wrong choice. They did a great job though. It took about 30 minutes to make, but when finally they made frogs, they looked very happy and let their frogs hop.

ジュリが学校で作ったもの。

２回目には「おしゃべり鳥」と「朝顔」を。
前回一度やっただけなのに、少しコツがわかったのかな、２回目の方がずっと飲み込みが良くて、しかもきれいに折れました。子供ってすごいな。
Today, we made "talking bird" and "morning glory". Those(photo) are the things Julie made at her class with me, every one did an awesome job!

「一生懸命日本語でお名前の練習をしたり、折り紙に挑戦したり、日本のこと、日本文化のことを知ろうと頑張ってくれてすごく嬉しかった、どうもありがとう。」と、とてもみんなに好評だったユニット折り紙、両三角錐を小さな折り紙で２０個作っておいたので授業の終わりにプレゼント。「ダイヤモンドだ～！」ってすごく喜んでくれました。
They thanked me with Japanese cheer, I thanked them too. "Origami and calligraphy, you did a wonderful job, I was very happy about that. Thank you so much for working very hard to learn about Japan and Japanese culture." I made those kind of like diamonds with 3 pieces Origami each for all students and gave them.

学校の廊下を歩いていると、「今日も何か一緒に作るかな？」「今日も日本語やる？折り紙やりたいな。」「僕さ、大きくなったら日本に遊びに行ってみたいって思ってるよ。」「１，２，３って日本語で言えるよ。」「 私のお母さん、鶴を折れるのよ、私もお母さんに聞いて練習してみようと思う。」
嬉しい反応です。中にはお家で折り紙でバッタを作ってきて見せてくれた子もいました。
"Are we going to do more Japanese things today?" " I want to do more Origami!" " I want to go to Japan in the future!" " My mom can make a crane with Origami, I will ask her to teach me!" " I can say 1,2,3 in Japanese!"  Lots of kids came to me and gave those comments, a student made Origami at home and showed it to me. :)
I was so lucky to have such a wonderful chance to do those things with great kids. 

先週廊下に書道を飾って欲しいと言われ、台紙をつけて貼ったブルテンボード。家に帰って懐かしくなって英国にいた時のアルバムを出してジュリと見てみたら、その当時のブルテンボードとほぼ同じ風に作っていて、あんまり変わってないもんだなぁ。。。と思いました。それがこちら。（下）
This is the bulletin board I made after the calligraphy experience. When I got home, I felt nostalgic and looked for my old album of my volunteer life in England and found very similar photos.(below) :)

「好きなもの」を書いてもらった。サッカーチームやスパイスガールズなんかも！

似てる。。。もう１５年も前の写真です。あの頃に小学校低学年だった子供たちは、私が英国にいた時の歳、２３歳くらいになっているんだ。。と思ったら、年月の経つスピードを感じました。次の１５年間もそうやってどんどん過ぎるのかな、そしたらジュリが２３歳に。。。
I can't believe that those are 15 years old photos. 15 years! That means the children at that time must be 21 to 23 years old now! Years go by so quickly...  Juliet will be 22 in next 15 years...wow.

ジュリも折り紙にまた興味を持っているようなので、熱の冷める間に、親子で週末にでも作ってみようと思います。書道と折り紙に感謝。

Anyway,  Julie is now more interested in Origami, maybe we will do more maybe this weekend. 

leafy green and sky blue

久しぶりの街への買出しに行きました。
小さなうちの町では手に入らない、もしくは高すぎるもの、主に食料品の買出し。
時間に追われていろんなお店に寄るので、何となくお店の中をうろうろが好きだった私にはそういうことはほぼ全く出来なくなって、結構辛いんだけれど、ま、仕方ない。
かわいいなぁ。。とふと目に入って買ったのは、卵チョコレート。イースターの残り物でセールでした。しかもとってもおいしかった。
We went to GP for our monthly big grocery shopping trip.
I bought those 'out of season' Easter chocolate eggs. Pretty!

ウィンドーショッピングはできないけれど、街への行き帰りの車からの山の眺めは本当に美しくて、ずーっと外を見ながら過ごしました。自然としては当たり前なんだろうけれど、あんなに厚い雪に覆われた白と茶色だけの世界が本当にその時期になるとこんなにも緑になるものなんだ、と感動してしまいます。新緑がものすごくきれい。
I very much enjoyed the beautiful view from car, I totally forgot how pretty the mountains in summer time were. Leafy green, sky blue, so beautiful everywhere!

家を出て、ハイウェイを少し走ったところで、なんとマウンテンシープの群れに遭遇。いやぁ、町のシンボルみたいになっている割に見かけたことがなかったんだけれど、いたいた！いるじゃん！ってちょっと安心。
We saw a group of mountain sheep just out of our town, it was the first time for me to see them around the town. A peaceful view.

鹿は相変わらず、いっぱい。前回ハイウェイを走った時は、枯れ草に鹿がとてもうまくカモフラージュして、見つけるのが難しかったけれど、今回は緑の芝や草の上、見つけるのはずっと楽でした。あとはコヨーテを見たかな。
We saw many deer as usual by the highway, they weren't camouflaged well in the fresh green. We saw a coyote too.

街に近づいた途中、農家の方たちが馬に乗って牛を移動させていて（ジュリはカウボーイだ！と大喜び）、久しぶりに見た牛たち（私たちの町は農業に向いていない立地で農家はいないので）、子牛たちがお母さん牛について一生懸命走っているのがかわいかった。
When we were getting closer to GP, we saw some launchers(on horses) were leading cows. Because we don't have farms around our town, it was interesting to see farm animals. We liked to see the calves.
 

気温はとうとう２０℃くらいまで上がり、日も伸びて帰り道も青空の中の運転。
車中は暑くて、今年初のスラーピー飲みました。ジュリも私もコーラが好き、シャーベットみたいなこのドリンクを飲みながら夏の始まりを感じました。（っていうか春はいつだったんだろう。）
It was about 20C yesterday!
Maybe we missed Spring or Spring just skipped and Summer has arrived. We had our first Slurpee this year.  

続いてお天気の良かった今日はいつもの川に行ったけれど、雪解け水で水かさがすっごく増えていてびっくり。いつもピクニックをしたり、石拾いをする場所まで行けませんでした。
It was a nice sunny day today too, we drove to a river this afternoon. The river water was really high, we couldn't go to where we usually do picnic or pick up interesting stones.

川の近くに野草がいろいろ咲いていて、ウキウキ。
We found some wildflowers blooming.

近くのビーバーダムに今年はビーバーの気配はなく、水のすごい勢いでダムがガタガタでした。ジュリはダディと石で小さなダムを作って、勢いにある水に対してダムを作ることの難しさを感じたようでした。
There used to have a beaver dam, but the beaver(s) has gone, the dam wasn't working anymore. Juliett helped Daddy to make a small dam with stones, she learned how strong the water goes and she needed a lot of stones to stop the water. 

寒い、春が来ないと言っているうちに６月になってしまったなんて、信じられない。この貴重な３ヶ月の緑の時期を楽しまないと、また。。。
６月。夏休み前の最後の月です。学校ではイベント盛りだくさん。
It is JUNE! I don't want to believe that we only have 3 or 4 month to enjoy this beautiful green then we will have the white/gray long winter again....we should appreciate and enjoy every moment.
One more month to Summer holiday, Juliett will have lots of fun at school in June!
