ジュリの大きな声が家に響きました。こんなに日本から離れたカルガリーでやれるとは思わなかったけれど、ナナとパパと豆まきしました~♪
It is the eve of the first day of spring in Japan today. We call it Setsubun.
On the evening of the day, we say " Devils, Bad Luck out! Hapiness, Good Luck in!" and throw roasted soy beans inside and outside of our houses. Then to pray for good health for the year, we eat only the same numbers of the beans as our ages. ( Juliett should eat 2!)

枡がないので、折り紙で入れ物を折って、さすがに家中ってわけにはいかなくて、キッチンでやりました。
Nana, Papa, Juliett and I did it at the kitchen(on the tiles, it was easy to clean the beans up).
I wore the mask Juliett made at the Japanese kids class the other day and played a devil. Nana, Papa, and Juliett said " Oni wa soto (Devils out)!" and threw some beans to me.

We said " Fuku wa uchi (happiness in)" and threw some beans in the kitchen.

Juliett loves products of soy beans, such as tofu, edamame. So she liked the roasted soy beans too. After throwing them, she sat down on the floor and gathered beans on the floor and ate them! Maybe she ate more than my age!
