Shirotsumekusa 2013 / Kakigori

天気予報を見たら、あんまりこの2週間暑くない感じ。
このままではあれを食べるチャンスを逃してしまうかも。。。
I have been checking weather forecast and I am wondering if we won't have any "hot" days here. It looks we are having around 25C every day.
I thought that I should make the dessert, Kakigori, even it was not a hot day!
あぁ。。。白玉、ラブ。
I love this sooooo much!
いやいや、それはできぬ。日の出てきた午後に作りました。
デッキに出て食べました、2杯ずつ!
We can't miss this dessert in Summer, Juliett and I ate it at the deck, it was so good!
We liked it so much and we had seconds.


その後、この間家に泊まりに来てくれたお友達ご家族がバンクーバーからお土産で持ってきてくださったいちごのシロップがあることに気づき、3杯目を練乳といちごで食べました。夢のコンビです。
幸せ!でも寒くて長袖(笑)。主人も学校で仕事をしていたのだけれど、夜に帰ってきて大きなどんぶり一杯食べました。彼もかき氷、大好きです。
お友達、改めてどうもありがとう、とってもおいしくいただきました!し、これから毎日いただきます。
Then I remembered that our family friends brought us the strawberry syrup from Vancouver last month, I thought I should try that too, so we had thirds! (I felt cold after having the third and grabbed my fleece!)
It was sooooo good with some condensed milk! Oh... what a wonderful dessert, I will eat it everyday until Fall comes.
Col came back from his work/preparation at school in the evening and had a bowl full of it, he loves the dessert too!

The mountain behind Juliett is Mt. Louie, I can't believe we climbed to the top of that mountain!
かき氷をデッキで満喫している時に、目の前のバックヤードにシロツメクサが咲いているのを見て、「マミィは今年は冠作ってくれないのかな」とジュリ。そうか、もう興味がないと思っていたけれど、まだああいうのを付けたいと思ってくれるのか、作りましょうとも、今すぐに!
She saw clover flowers blooming at the alley in front of our back yard and she asked me when I would make the crown for herself. I didn't know she still wanted to have one this year, I said, "OK, let's go there now and I will make one for you."

かき氷の器を片付けて、外に出ました。
クローバーとレンゲの花の香りがとっても良くて、いい気分で冠作成。シロツメクサはもう終わり気味でした。いつもはもう少し早く作っていたかな。
So many weeds were blooming, I like the smell of clover flowers, I had a good time making the crown. Juliett helped picking some flowers for me.

着いたよ~!
ジュリはこのラビリンスがとても好き。これまでも何度も散歩に来たけれど、毎回嬉しそうに歩きます。
ちょっと今日は雲が多かったけれど、 270℃山に囲まれたこの景色もやっぱり見飽きることはなくいいものだ、と思います。
We walked to the labyrinth, Juliett likes this park so much, we have been there for many times but she enjoys walking on it every time.

昨日の夜は夕焼けを見ながら2人で絵を描きました。
ジュリは飛んでいたカラスも描いたし、小さな虫も描きました。
昨日の夕焼けはこれまたちょっと雲が多くていまいちだったけれど、近所に友達も、外で遊んでいる子供たちもいなくていつも私と、仕事のない時は主人と過ごしているジュリがかわいそうで、何か一緒にアクティビティーをしよう思ったのでした。
夏休みの山での生活、贅沢は言えないけれど、近しい友人がいなくて、ギャラリーや博物館やおもしろいお店もない、小さな小さな図書館には行き過ぎて借りたい子供の本がない。。。これは少し残念なところ。
Juliett and I painted mountains last evening, it was not the best sun set, we have seen much more beautiful ones but I wanted to do an activity with her. She(we) doesn't have friends around, actually we don't see many children playing around, so she has been spending time with Col and mostly with me, that is a bit sad thing during holiday. We don't have close friends yet, no interesting stores or a gallery or a museum to visit in town, we have been to the small library too many times and read so many books already...

でも、そこはその置かれた状況で工夫するしかないですね。頑張ります。
But we will find something to do. I will do my best for her.


こんな風に空がピンクに染まる瞬間は、何度見ても幸せになる瞬間。
I love the moment when the sky turns to orange-ish pink like this photo, it is amazingly beautiful.

We are having hot weather and The Herald had a feature article on soba yesterday so I cooked that for my treat. I remember you talking about eating it in Japan in summer....I enjoyed it.
I would like to taste the dessert sometime....it looks delicious!

We haven't had so hot days, I hope we will have some!
Col and Juliett went to the pool this afternoon and we all had the dessert after, it is a shaved ice with some syrup. For mine, I made green tea(macha) syrup and I also made dango. Juliett loves to eat it with maple syrup, Col likes to eat it with strawberry syrup with condensed milk.

We haven't had any cold noodles this summer yet, we should eat it too! Maybe after hiking on a hot day!
